Off to do serious research!

13 May

Yes, as of tomorrow, Bethany and Brenda and Dawn (Beth’s sister) will head back to Europe to do some SERIOUS research on where the best ice cream is! Is that dedication, or what? Needless to say, we’re very excited and plan to bring you lots and lots of recommendations.

We’ll start in Rome, move on to Florence, then to the Cinque Terre, Nice, Paris–where we’ll be staying RIGHT NEXT to the famous Berthillon ice cream shop!–then on to London, Dublin and western Ireland (where we hope to sample some of Murphy’s Ice Cream).

Our plan is to blog on the road, as often as we can manage it, which will mean as often as we can duck into an internet cafe along the way. When we get back, we’ll post pictures!

So again, please comment with some of YOUR favorite ice cream places along our route, and we’ll do our darnedest to sample them, if we see your posts in time. We’re doing this whole trip in two weeks, so it will be a bit of a whirlwind, but a whirlwind filled with great ice cream–and what can be wrong with that?

Now that is a trip I could get behind! Berthillon is certainly worth a visit. There’s a rake of places in Rome. Get the “Top Ten” Guide, which lists a bunch of them. Look forward to hearing about what you discover.

Hope to see you if you make it as far as us. Enjoy!

We’ve managed to hit 7 gelaterias in 2 days in Rome! Thanks for posting, and I really hope we can make it as far as Dingle–we’ll be based in Doolin.
